Privacy Policy
Your trust matters to us. This policy explains, in plain language, how we handle your personal data.
Last updated: November 2026

The controller of your personal data is Search and Rescue Banská Bystrica, a non-profit civil association registered in Slovakia, ICO: 56031033, with its registered office at Dolná 52, 974 01 Banská Bystrica, Slovakia. Contact: info@insideoutforeveryone.org, phone +421908651471.
2. Legal framework
We process personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation, "GDPR") and Slovak Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on the Protection of Personal Data.
3. What data we collect
- Contact details you give us (name, email, phone) when you write to us or use the contact form.
- Volunteer application data (contact details, date of birth, relevant skills, training records, emergency contact, and health information you voluntarily provide for fitness-for-duty purposes).
- Donor and sponsor data (name, contact details, donation amount and date) needed for accounting.
- Basic technical data (such as IP address and browser type) processed by our hosting provider for security.
4. Why we process it and on what legal basis
- Responding to enquiries — our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) or steps prior to an agreement (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Managing volunteers and training — performance of the volunteer agreement (Art. 6(1)(b)) and, for health data, your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a)).
- Processing donations — legal obligations under accounting and tax laws (Art. 6(1)(c)).
- Newsletters or updates — only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
5. Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We may share it only with trusted processors (e.g. email and hosting providers), with emergency and civil protection authorities when coordinating a rescue operation, or where required by law.
6. How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept up to 2 years; volunteer records for the duration of membership plus 3 years; accounting records for the period required by Slovak law (typically 10 years).
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email info@insideoutforeveryone.org. You may also lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic (Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov SR).
